De ﬂesta uppfördes i nationalro-mantisk stil och ﬂera av Göteborgs mest framträdande arkitekter ritade de enskilda villorna bl a A Bjerke (kv 25:5, 7, 8), J Jarlén (kv 25:12 och kv 1:14), E Torulf (kv 1:15), S Ericsson (kv 1:13) samt Hj Cornilsen (kv 1:12). Längs Apotekaregatan präglades villorna starkt av den Utby är en egnahemsförort, ca 6 km öster om centrala Göteborg. Området började bebyggas omkring 1910 och består nästan uteslutande av villor och radhus.
